The GlobalNeonat project was presented at the WHO conference on medical devices, which was held in Geneva on November 22nd to 24th. Many contacts were taken, with manufacturers of medical devices, with other entrepreneurs having similar projects, and with scientists interested in collaborating.
The message from the EssentialTech program, which is to develop appropriate devices taking into account the whole life-cycle of the product from the very beginning, aroused a lot of interest. Many issues, although crucial, are indeed often neglected at the early stages of development, but they then make the whole project fail. These issues, such as handling innovation, intellectual property, international regulation, manufacturing or local distribution, are naturally integrated in the EssentialTech approach, which will prevent facing those pitfalls.
